Ever visit a Ghost Town? Ever visit a historically significant town? This is the place. The Hotel was built in 1866 and has the decor - some of it original - of that time period. The dinning area is decorated in as original decor as possible. Sit by a window and watch the hummingbirds feed. Or sit in the center and look at the historic decor. It is fascinating! It is like stepping back 100 years. Exciting! Unique! The owners, Roger and Jerri Nelson, are more than eager to show you around and explain the items on display. You must see this one. Food presentation is good. The plates are presented full and cleanly decorated. The kitchen is very clean and efficiently run. The food quality is excellent and the taste is too. The dinner menu changes almost daily and when we were there it included an excellent salmon dish. There was also a chicken dish on the menu. There is a full breakfast and lunch printed menu that has a wide range of breakfast dishes (I suggest the most wonderful pancakes you've ever eaten) and lunch sandwiches (the Turkey Burger is great). Beer and wine are available. The service staff is pleasant and helpful and not over whelming. A very delightful waite staff. The cost is moderate for the quality that you receive.
We went there for our 23rd Wedding Anniversary and definitely enjoyed ourselves. If not for the ambiance, then for the personnel and the friendliness of the people there. Roger and Jerri Nelson are delightful people and are very concerned that you enjoy yourself while there. We will return to the “Idaho Hotel”. It is definitely worth the 4-Stars.
